Trackside Training — A product of Fair Weather Athletics, LLC

1. Introduction

Trackside Training is a product operated by Fair Weather Athletics, LLC ("Fair Weather Athletics," "we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy outlines how Fair Weather Athletics, LLC collects, uses, protects, and shares your information when you use Trackside Training, including our website, app, and integrations with third-party fitness platforms.

This policy explains what we collect and how we use and share it.

2. Information We Collect

When you interact with Trackside Training, we may collect the following types of information:

a. Account and Profile Information

  • Name, email address, date of birth, sex and country, plus profile details you add, such as your experience level, injury status and notes, emergency contact, and body measurements (weight, height, and resting and maximum heart rate)
  • Device or app credentials (OAuth tokens) for third-party integrations

b. Fitness and Health Data from Connected Services

Collected when you connect Garmin, Polar, Suunto, Wahoo, Apple Health or Health Connect, or upload workout files:

  • Workouts and related metrics (e.g., pace, distance, duration, heart rate, power, cadence, GPS routes)
  • Daily summaries, such as steps, heart rate and stress, when a connected service sends them

c. Your Conversations with the Coach

  • The messages you send to the coach and the replies it writes
  • The coaching notes the coach keeps (see "Coaching notes" in section 5)
  • Feedback, input, and preferences you give about your training
  • Interaction logs and session data, linked to your account

d. Apple Health (HealthKit) Data

With your permission, Trackside Training reads fitness and health data from Apple HealthKit — such as workouts, heart rate, cadence, GPS routes, and related performance metrics — to provide personalized training insights and recommendations.

We are committed to handling HealthKit data responsibly. Specifically:

  • HealthKit data is not used for advertising or marketing.
  • HealthKit data is not used for data mining or any purpose unrelated to your health and fitness.
  • HealthKit data is never sold or rented. After you agree to AI coaching, it is shared with third-party AI providers only to write your coaching replies and plans and to keep your coaching notes (see "AI coaching" in section 5).
  • HealthKit data is used solely to deliver the app's core training features and is retained only as long as necessary to provide the service.

e. Health Connect (Android)

Trackside reads workouts and related metrics, such as distance, routes, heart rate, cadence and power, from Health Connect with your permission, to provide training insights and coaching. Health Connect data is never sold or rented, and it is not used for advertising or marketing. After you agree to AI coaching, it is shared with third-party AI providers only to write your coaching replies and plans and to keep your coaching notes (see "AI coaching" in section 5).

f. Walkthrough requests

If you ask for a walkthrough on our coaches or clubs page, we collect your name, email address, club or coaching business name, the size of your group, the times you suggest, and the tracking tags on the link that brought you there. We use them to arrange the walkthrough and follow up about it, and we use the tracking tags to count which of our posts and links bring requests. They aren't linked to a Trackside account. To have them erased, email gdugger@fair-weather-athletics.com.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your data to deliver and improve the Trackside Training experience. This includes:

  • Generating customized training plans and workout recommendations using AI (see "AI coaching" in section 5)
  • Personalizing insights and progress tracking based on historical data
  • Rebuilding your plan every two weeks from what you actually ran, and changing your plan when you ask (Premium)
  • Communicating with you regarding updates, support, and service changes

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share it only in these cases:

  • With third-party AI providers, after you agree to AI coaching, to write your coaching replies and plans and to keep your coaching notes (see "AI coaching" in section 5, which explains what we send and when).
  • With service providers that run Trackside for us: cloud hosting and storage, email delivery, payment processing, error monitoring, and the email platform we use for newsletters.
  • With the other members and the people who run an organization you join on Trackside, such as a club or a coach's team, and with a coach you agree to work with (see "Clubs and organizations" and "Coaches" below).
  • With Strava, when you connect it and agree, to publish your runs there (see "Publishing to Strava" below).
  • With your explicit consent in other cases.
  • When required by law or regulation.

Clubs and organizations

You can join Trackside through a seat that a club, coach or other group provides. Other members of the organization can see your name, your role in it and when you joined. Being in the organization doesn't let them see your profile details or training. Other members don't see your email address in the member list or in messages. You choose who in each organization can message you through Trackside: all members, only its admins, or no one. Members start at admins only, and people you have messaged can always reply. Change it on the organization's Preferences tab on the web; its admins can see your choice. What the people who run the organization see depends on who runs it.

If a club, coach or other group gives you a seat through its own organization on Trackside, the people who run that organization see your name and email address when you take the seat. This applies whether or not the seat was paid for. They see your profile details and training only if you agree to be coached by one of them and we connect you (see "Coaches" below). They can add you to the organization only after you accept a seat in it.

If your seat comes through an organization that we run for a club or other partner, the organizer doesn't see your name, email address, profile details or training through that organization. But if the organizer also takes a seat in it, they see your name, as other members do. We may tell the organizer how many seats were claimed.

Coaches

If you agree to be coached by a person through Trackside, we connect you to your coach only after you say yes (for example, by agreeing when you join your coach's team through their invite link). Your coach can then see your name, email address, profile details (such as your date of birth, sex, height, maximum heart rate, injury status and notes, and emergency contact), training and plan. Your coach can change your plan and your calendar, including workouts you've already done, and can update your injury status and injury notes. Only you (or Trackside support) can change your name, email, date of birth or other personal details. You and your coach can message each other in Trackside. Until we connect you, a coach who runs the organization you joined sees your name and email address, but not your profile details or training (see "Clubs and organizations" above).

Your coach can also use the Trackside coach for you: ask it about your training, or have it build or change your plan using your seat (or your own paid plan). All of this works only after you agree to AI coaching. Your data then goes to our AI providers as described in "AI coaching" in section 5, including when your coach asks about all of their athletes at once. When your coach asks about you alone, the Trackside coach can use the coaching notes it keeps for you.

If something you write to the Trackside coach suggests a crisis, such as thoughts of harming yourself or a serious symptom like chest pain or fainting, Trackside may automatically send your coach an alert that quotes that message. The Trackside coach can also pass a note to your coach when you ask it to, or when it thinks your coach should know, for example about an injury.

To stop being coached, email gdugger@fair-weather-athletics.com. We'll end your coach's access to your profile details and training from then on. If you joined through your coach's organization, we'll also remove you from it. You and your coach may still be able to message each other.

Publishing to Strava

If you connect Strava, Trackside uploads the runs you record with the Trackside watch to your Strava account. We ask you to agree first, and you choose whether to also send your runs from the last 30 days. Each run goes as a FIT file with its GPS route, heart rate, power, cadence, timing and the device it was recorded on. Strava gives each run your Strava default privacy setting. Once a run is on Strava, Strava's Privacy Policy applies to it (strava.com/legal/privacy).

To upload for you, Strava gives us access to your Strava account and your Strava athlete ID, which we keep while you're connected. We keep Strava's upload and activity IDs, and what Strava said about each upload, for at most 7 days; after that we keep only that the run was sent. We don't read your activities or profile from Strava, and we never send anything we get from Strava to AI providers.

You can disconnect in Trackside under Settings → Connections, or in Strava under Settings › My Apps. Uploads stop and we delete everything we keep from Strava, and we email you to confirm. Runs already on Strava stay there; delete them in Strava. Deleting your Trackside account disconnects Strava too.

Strava may monitor and collect data about how Trackside uses the Strava API, and may use it for any business purpose, internal or external, such as improving the Strava API and Strava, providing developer or user support, and making sure Trackside follows its agreement with Strava.

5. AI Coaching

Trackside's coach uses third-party AI providers to write coaching replies, build, change and rebuild training plans, keep coaching notes and format conversation exports. Your requests go from our servers to AI model providers, usually through an AI routing service.

What we send. When the coach answers you or works on your plan, it sends the AI provider your name and email address, your messages, the coaching notes it keeps, and your training and health data (including workouts from Apple Health, Health Connect, Garmin, other connected services and files you upload). It also sends profile details, including your date of birth and age, sex, country, injury status and notes, and body measurements (weight, height, and resting and maximum heart rate). When you ask about things like race dates or course facts, the coach may run a web search through the same service, and the search can include words from your message.

When. Only after you agree on the card "Before your coach answers," which the app and the website show before the coach first answers you. Until you agree, the coach, plan building, automatic plan rebuilds and coaching notes stay off for your account. After you agree, your data is sent when you use the coach, when it builds or changes your plan, when your plan is updated automatically (rebuilt every two weeks, extended with upcoming weeks as you train, or rebuilt after new workouts sync), when you export a coach conversation as a PDF, and after each coach reply, when it saves coaching notes.

We don't sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising.

Coaching notes

To remember your goals, preferences and history between conversations, the coach saves short notes. They are stored on our servers, and writing a note uses an AI provider (see above). You can ask the coach to forget a note, or email gdugger@fair-weather-athletics.com. Your notes are erased with the rest of your data when you delete your account (see section 9).

You choose whether the coach can use your data with AI providers. We ask once, before the coach first answers you, and record your choice for your account, so agreeing in the app or on the website covers both. You can withdraw anytime on the web under Settings → Privacy at trackside.training, or in the app under Settings → Preferences (app version 1.0.10 or later). After you withdraw, the coach, plan building, automatic plan rebuilds and coaching notes stop for your account, and we stop sending your data to AI providers. Plans already on your calendar and your synced runs stay.

6. Garmin AI Transparency Statement

Trackside Training uses artificial intelligence (AI) to provide coaching. If you connect your Garmin Connect account, Trackside may send data from it, such as your activities, pace, distance, heart rate and related metrics, to third-party AI providers to write your coaching replies and plans and to keep your coaching notes. Trackside processes your Garmin data with AI only after you give explicit consent, and you can withdraw that consent at any time on the web under Settings → Privacy at trackside.training, or in the app under Settings → Preferences (app version 1.0.10 or later). When you withdraw it, Trackside stops sending your Garmin data to AI providers. Garmin activities that have already synced stay in your Trackside account after you disconnect Garmin, and are erased when you delete your account (see Data Retention, section 9).

7. Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access: You may request access to the data we store about you.
  • Correction: You may request corrections to inaccurate data.
  • Deletion: You can delete your account and its data yourself at any time (see section 9).
  • Revocation: You may revoke third-party integrations at any time.

To exercise these rights, email: gdugger@fair-weather-athletics.com

8. Data Security

We encrypt your data in transit and at rest, restrict access to our systems, and support sign-in with Face ID or Touch ID in the app.

9. Data Retention

We keep your data while your account is open, or as long as needed to provide the services and meet legal obligations. You can delete your account at any time in the app under Settings → Preferences → Delete Account, or on the web under Settings → Security at trackside.training. Your account closes right away, your connected devices are disconnected and you're signed out everywhere. Within 30 days we erase your data, including your workouts, health data, training plans, conversations with the coach and coaching notes, and we email you when it's done. We keep payment records and records of the terms and consents you agreed to, as the law requires, and messages, comments, notes and events you made for other people, which stay with them without your name. Workout templates you created and usage counts stay too, without your name. Server logs, which can include your email address, are deleted on a rolling basis. Copies of our database kept as backups or for testing keep your data until they are next replaced or deleted. Changed your mind? Email gdugger@fair-weather-athletics.com within 28 days to keep your account.

10. Children's Privacy

Our services are not intended for children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect or store personal information from minors. If we become aware that a user under 18 has provided us with personal data, we will take steps to delete it.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you via email or app notification. For changes to how we share your data, we'll ask for your consent in the app or on the website.
